I haven’t written on my blog for over 2 years now. I miss it at times, but I've kept very busy
with work and family, so I haven’t missed it too often. But, I’m really bothered by something and
this is where I will vent. I doubt
anyone will ever see or read it anyway.
I’m sure the topic will offend some, but it’s my blog and I can say what
I want to.
Phil Robertson caught all kinds of flak for quoting a Bible
verse. The liberals can say almost
anything and not catch a moment of the media’s attention. The liberals enjoy the right of freedom of
speech. Conservatives? Not so much.
The media doesn't allow it.
“Let any one of you
who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” (John 8:7).
I am not judging. I’ll leave that to God on Judgment Day. I will not judge anyone. Trust me, I have been the object of people’s
judgment, and going through that, I learned to be very nonjudgmental of
others. At that time in my life, I
never once asked anyone to condone what I was doing. I knew it was wrong. Sin is sin. Some sin is more public than others. We may look at some people's lives and think they have the perfect life that we all desire, but what we don't see is the sin that they struggle with in private. We all struggle with sin. If you think you don’t, then you are lying to
yourself.
Do you not know that
the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the
sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor
homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers
nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
What makes my heart sad is the way society accepts
homosexuality as being okay. It’s become
almost fashionable to have a gay friend.
Would society be so accepting of people with other sexual sins? There are no “acceptable” sins. What
if someone was attracted to animals? Their
sibling? Their parent? Their teenage son/daughter? A young child? Would that be okay?
The Bible says that someone who is sexually immoral will not
inherit the kingdom of God. I can
understand non-believers acceptance of homosexuality. But, if you are a Bible believing, God
fearing, born again Christian I don’t see how you can be okay with it. The straw that broke this camel’s back was
Robin Roberts “coming out”. Really? Didn't most of the country suspect that
she was gay? I, for one, assumed and admired her for “staying in the closet”, or choosing not to live a homosexual
lifestyle.
Sometimes I have a very hard time putting into words how I
feel about a topic, without stumbling all over my words. Pastor Rick Hawks from The Chapel said it
best here. It’s just over 11 minutes, but so worth
listening to.
